EchoStar (SATS) and SpaceX just sent shock waves through the wireless communications business. EchoStar announced it reached a $17 billion cash-plus-stock agreement to sell the company’s AWS-4 and H-block spectrum licenses to SpaceX.

AT&T (T.N), said on Tuesday it has agreed to purchase certain wireless spectrum licenses from EchoStar (SATS.O), for about $23 billion, as the U.S. telecom giant scales its network to stay ahead in a competitive market.

AT&T Inc. said Monday it has agreed to sell its 70% stake in satellite-TV company DirecTV Entertainment Holdings LLC to its partner, private-equity firm TPG Inc., for about $7.6 billion in cash payments through 2029.

Billionaire Charlie Ergen is combining his two telecom companies, pay-TV provider Dish Network Corp. DISH, +0.66% and satellite-communications company EchoStar Corp. SATS, +21.26% in an all-stock deal, the companies said Tuesday, confirming a report by the Wall Street Journal late Monday.
