Derivatives exchange CME Group (NASDAQ:CME) beat Wall Street estimates for second-quarter profit on Wednesday, as record volatility boosted demand for its products, which are often used to hedge against macroeconomic uncertainty.

Mortgage rates rose last week to the highest level in four weeks, but mortgage demand didn’t really move. Total mortgage application volume increased 0.8% last week from the previous week, according to the Mortgage Bankers Association’s seasonally adjusted index.

SAP posted second-quarter earnings of 1.50 euros a share, which beat Wall Street estimates of €1.43 a share, according to FactSet, and increased from the €1.10 a share in the same period last year.
