Nvidia (NVDA), opens new tab will invest $2 billion each in photonic product makers Lumentum (LITE), opens new tab and Coherent (COHR), opens new tab to support the companies’ research and development and manufacturing operations in the U.S., the companies said on Monday.

Oct 10 (Reuters) – Coherent (COHR.N), a major U.S. supplier of materials used to make chips for the automotive industry, said on Tuesday Japan’s Denso (6902.T) and Mitsubishi Electric (6503.T) will invest $1 billion in the company’s silicon carbide business.

Shares of Coherent Corp. tumbled 17% in after-hours trading Tuesday after the optoelectronics company issued a weaker-than-expected outlook for the quarter and year ahead.
