Jabil (JBL) stock rose Wednesday after the supplier of electronic parts reported better-than-expected quarterly results and lifted its outlook for the fiscal year.

Jabil JBL –0.38% reached an agreement to sell its manufacturing business in China to BYD Electronic 285 0.00% , a subsidiary of Chinese electric-vehicle maker BYD 1211 +0.72% , in a deal valued at about $2.2 billion.
