EQT closed its midstream joint venture with Blackstone’s credit asset management division.

Blackstone has agreed to buy a joint venture stake in interstate pipelines from US energy group EQT in a complex financing manoeuvre that shows how some of the biggest corporations are turning to private capital giants to alleviate burdens on their balance sheets.

MUMBAI, Oct 11 (Reuters) – Private equity firm Blackstone (BX.N) has held preliminary discussions with Walt Disney (DIS.N) to acquire a stake in the Indian arm of the entertainment firm, two sources familiar with the matter told Reuters on Wednesday.

 Shares of Blackstone and Airbnb rallied in extended trade on Friday after S&P Dow Jones Indices said the two companies would join the S&P 500  index.
