European aerospace group Airbus is discussing the sale of some assets to allay competition concerns over its proposed space merger with Leonardo and Thales.

Europe’s largest space groups unveiled a preliminary deal on Thursday to join forces in satellite manufacturing and services after months of negotiations to counter the runaway growth of rivals led by Elon Musk’s Starlink.

Leonardo  is working with France’s Thales and Airbus  on a joint strategy for the space sector, the head of the Italian aerospace and defence group said on Tuesday.

PARIS, July 21 (Reuters) – France’s Thales (TCFP.PA) upgraded its full-year revenue forecast after posting faster-than-expected growth for the first half on Friday, buoyed by a recovery in civil aerospace and growth in its digital identity and security business.
